Dr. Jay Murphy, DVM

Dr. Murphy graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 where he also received his undergraduate in 1993. He is a native of Charlotte. When not working he enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 sons, and of course his pets. His hobbies include being outdoors, deep sea fishing, snowboarding, and Georgia football. Go Dawgs!!!

Dr. Derrick Reed, DVM

Dr. Reed graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 where he also attended for his undergrad. After much of his childhood in Raleigh, he moved to Memphis and practiced for 4 years in Chattanooga upon graduation from vet school. When not working , he spends his free time with his wife, daughter and son, two dogs, two cats, and two gerbils. He also enjoys working in his yard, attending baseball games and UT football games in the fall, and traveling.

Dr. Wendy Ryan, DVM, MS

Dr. Ryan graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983, (War Eagle!), where she also received her Masters’ Degree in Physiology and her undergraduate Zoology degree. She enjoys all facets of veterinary medicine, especially soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Dr. Ryan has been training dogs and competing in Obedience, Rally, and Agility for over 30 years. Through all her behavior studies for such training, she has helped many clients with pet behavior problems. Although a devoted owner of mixed breed dogs and cats for years, when a client gave her a show quality Chinese Crested Powderpuff, she insisted Dr. Ryan show him in Conformation, She then got “sucked into” the Conformation world of dog shows and now has four Chinese Cresteds, some of which are Champions and Grand Champions. Go figure. In her spare time, she plays with and trains her dogs and loves to be outdoors and is a huge gardening enthusiast.

Dr Samantha Barber Stanley, DVM

Dr. Barber graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 where she also received her undergraduate degree in biology. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio but moved to Florida for one year after vet school before making her way to the Carolinas. Dr. Barber loves Charlotte, especially the proximity to amazing hiking, local restaurants and breweries, and Lake Norman. When she isn’t at work she is staying active outside or spending time with her 3 dogs (Toby, Hank, and Sarah) and her fiance, Dan. Her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, dermatology, and forming meaningful relationships with clients and their pets.

Dr Alexis Pennings, DVM

Dr. Pennings grew up on a farm in southwest Virginia and wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age. She attended veterinary school at Virginia Tech and then completed a rotating internship in Louisville, Kentucky. Following her internship, she practiced emergency medicine in Florida. Dr. Pennings has also had the opportunity to participate in several experiences with zoo animals, wildlife, and exotic pets over the years. She particularly enjoys surgery, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, crafting, horseback riding, reading, and traveling.

Dr. Maggie Sacco, DVM

Dr. Maggie Sacco graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Her professional interests include dermatology, neurology, wellness and geriatric medicine. When Dr. Sacco is not at work she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Lily, as well as running and yoga. Her pet family includes three dogs (Avery, Riley and Sarge) and two cats (Meatball and Giggles).
